i remember he was so appreciative for the both of them for their sacrifices

i also remember that his father was a paratrooper for the SAS which was crazy

he said their sacrifices lead to him having a beautiful life. i just thought that was an endearing point of view

unc shared some stories when he was in philippines

i remember he said he was a firefighter in the uk. when he was 27, he was in charge of their crew which i think was insane

when he got to the philippines, one time he saw a place that was burning and he saw the firefighters and their equipment to which he knew that their equipment won't cut it. when he came back to canada, he saw a firefighter crew trying to get rid of those special ladders they'd use. he remembered the crew in the philippines and he decided to buy that ladder and donated it

i remember he said he hired about 900 people in the philippines for his businesses. he had different businesses which was interesting; one of which was making rattan chairs

he also shared that the rotary club in cebu gave him an award to which he got surprised cause all he did was try to help them

he told me that one time they had a party there in cebu together with the people from their business. his dad was there and they saw that the people were dancing and enjoying themselves. the both of them saw this girl and unc richard told his dad that the girl's good looking and that his dad should go up to the girl and dance with her. his dad agreed and went to dance with the girl. the funny thing is that his dad found out that the girl was a he all along lmao

when unc, who is now 81, said what he has been doing around my age it made me think of what i've done with my life lol

it really opened up my eyes and made me want to be better for myself
