“O Lord, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear? I cry out to You, ‘Violence!’ yet You do not save.”
— Habakkuk 1:2 (MEV)
"Look among the nations, and watch— wonder and be amazed! For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe, though it were told you."
- Habakkuk 1:5 (MEV)
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak and it will not lie. Though it delays, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not delay.”
— Habakkuk 2:3 (MEV)
somewhat related verse
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
— Isaiah 55:8–9 (MEV)
God revealed to me a few things when i was looking into this:
- God is always there to listen to you and He hears all of your prayers
- God is always at work
- God's work is not limited to what we can recognize
- God's way is always going to be better than my way
- God sees the whole picture and i don't
- God’s promises may not happen according to our timing, but they happen according to His timing
it’s easy to focus only on what we can see and forget how much God can do beyond what we can imagine
this reminds me to trust in the Lord and know that He is working things out for my good
i’m also reminded that God wants a deeper relationship with us, and that we can come to Him with honesty and have real conversations with Him
